In addition to Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa, Da Nang has been selected as another ideal destination in Viet Nam for Russian tourists. It is estimated that almost 36,000 tourists fromRussia will visit Da Nang on charter flights between March and September 2012.

Ms Hoang Thi Phong Thu, chairperson of Anh Duong Co Ltd, recently announced that the company is preparing to welcome to Da Nangtourists from 8 Russian cities, starting in the middle of March. “We’ve just signed contracts to cooperate with Turkey’s Pegas Touristik company to bring about 200 Russian visitors to the city on a daily charter flight over the next 6 months”, said Ms Thu. These tourists will be on a ten/twelve-day tour and stay at three to five-star hotels in Da Nangand Hoi An.

Anh Duong Co Ltd also signed a similar contract with the same Turkish company to bring Russian tourists on charter flights to Cam Ranh International Airport, to stay in Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan. This particular contract began in October 2011, and will end in May this year. The Moscow-based Pegas Touristik is a travel company specialising in the organisation of international tours for Russian people.

“The Russian tourism market is developing dramatically. Since the end of October 2011, we have brought a total of 25,000 Russian visitors to Khanh Hoa’s Cam Ranh. In January, 9 charter flights fromRussia, instead of the usual 7, arrived at Cam Ranh every week. Our partner has decided to continue these flights through this summer”, she added. 
Russia is the most important market for beach tourism destinations such as Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa. 100,000 Russian tourists made up one-third of the total number of foreign visitors to Binh Thuan in 2011. This country also ranked second, after Germany, in the top ten markets for Khanh Hoa last year.

Russian tourists often select long vacations, between one and two weeks, at coastal resorts. In previous years these visitors only came on winter vacations, but now they arrive in summer too.
