The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently announced that Da Nang, Thua Thien–Hue and Quang Nam will participate in a tourism fair to be held in Russia in September this year. The three localities will organise a programme to publicise and introduce their tourism potential to Russian tourism companies and press agencies at this event.

A roadshow to introduce the tourism potential of the three localities will also visit Moscow and some cities in the Far Eastern Region of Russia. This will be the first opportunity for Da Nang, Thua Thien–Hue and Quang Nam to publicise their images in Russia, a new tourism market with a great potential for tourists. It is scheduled that about 8 charter flights will bring extra tourists from Russia to Da Nang, in addition to the number of tourists taking the existing traditional tours. These tourists will stay at hotels and resorts in Da Nang, Hoi An and Thua Thien-Hue.

A tourism fair in Russia

The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also reported that the city will launch an air route connecting Da Nang to China’s Hangzhou next month. It is planned that Vietnam Airlines will bring Chinese visitors to the city on three to four charter flights every month. In addition, charter flights on the Da Nang to Kunming, China, route will re-commence in July this year.

China is the biggest market for Da Nang’s tourism sector. The city already welcomes tourists from Guangzhou, Macao, Nanjing and Shanghai on charter flights every week.
