Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, andrepresentatives of ministries, agencies and nearly 500 delegates from businesses, organizations and business associations, media agencies attended the event.

The conference aims to introduce potential, opportunities for investmentpromotionand tourism development in Thua Thien Hue province as well as the goals of the socio-economic development plan in the period 2016-2020. The conference is also a forum for organizations, businesses, investors both local and foreign to meet and talk with the government and enterprises ofthe province

Mr. Le Truong Luu, Secretary of Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said: “In recent years, with BIDV’ support, the province’s calling for investment has seen positive changes. The provincemaderesolutions on investment promotion and investment support”.

Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of the province made commitment: “The provincial government is committed to creating a liberal,convenient and efficient investment environment for investors; willing to meet with businesses and investors to listen, discuss and solve problems as well as givingtimely direction to support investors in their investment in theprovince”.

In addition, to attract investors, the province has developed preferential policies; improved business environment and delivered commitments to investors including supporting infrastructure development toproject fences; providing labor resources, supporting the training of local workers; holding dialogues with and supporting investors to completeadministrative procedures in accordance with law.

Since end-2015, large enterprises expressed their interest and implemented many projects in the province, some of which may be named: the construction of Phong Dien Industrial Zone infrastructure, the establishment of Hue–Bangkok, Hue– Dalat, Hue - Nha Trang flight routes. Large-scale projects such as resorts, production factories, upgrading of airports, construction of harborsare being studied.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue welcomed and appreciated the initiative and effortsof Thua Thien Hue province and BIDV in organizing the conference. The Deputy Prime Minister willedthe province to focus on developing health care, education, and promoting the strengths of the province, considering tourism as a key sector and ensuring the harmony between cultural conservation and development.

BIDV acted four roles in the conference namely the initiator and co-organizer; crowd-funder, sponsor and credit provider.

BIDV committed to provide credit to support the development of socio-economic development programs and projects in the period 2016-2018, focusing on three potential areas namely Industry; Trade and services; and High-tech agriculture. BIDV said it would consider supporting and coordinating with the province to organize programs and events to promote and attract domestic and foreign investment into the province while introducing potential investorsto the province,especially the Chan May Economic Zone.

BIDV Chairman Tran Bac Ha said: “BIDV is committed to accompanying enterprises on their investment in the province. BIDV not only providescapital and services to businesses in their early stages but also supports themthroughout theirdoing business and investmentwith the most favorable interest rates, longest tenor and best service quality”.

At the conference, theprovince awarded 16 investment certificates totalingVND7,744.5 billion to and signed 06 cooperation agreements with partners, investors.

BIDV signed a grant agreement totaling VND7 billion on the planning of Thua Thien Hue province. The Bank also signedmaster credit agreements to finance 7 projects which have total investment of VND4,558 billion.
